Joe's Camp

Bantam Elite Basketball Camp - Est. 2000

Thank You

Even though I call the camp Joe’s Camp, I could not do it alone.  I want to use this webpage to thank the numerous people who have helped make the camp possible.

First of all I want to thank my girlfriend, Melissa de Witt, for all of her extremely hard work.  Melissa made over 100 sandwiches the night before camp, and she worked as a scorekeeper and photographer during the camp.  Most importantly, she put up with me during the two months leading up to the camp.  I appreciate the time she spent driving around Metro to pick up registration fees, and basketballs for the camp.

Another person who has helped me out every year since the first camp in 2000 is Karen Beals.  Karen is the registrar for North Preston Minor Basketball.  She and her husband Neville always make sure that the top young players from North Preston attend my camp year after year.

Thanks to Matt Boyle who always does an outstanding job refereeing at the camp.  As far as I’m concerned, he is always the hardest worker at the camp.

Also, thanks to Jamie MacDonald.  This was Jamie’s first year as a volunteer coach at my camp.  He was willing to do whatever was needed during the camp to make sure that everything ran smoothly.  I really appreciate is efforts and dedication.

Thanks to Janice Mitchell and my mother, Vicki Mosher, for working at the lunch table during the camp.  Also, thanks to my father, Barry, and my sister, Emily for helping out with the scorekeeping.

Thanks to Donnie Ehler of Basketball Nova Scotia for dropping by to talk to the kids and for donating some great BNS gear that we used as prizes.

Thanks to T-Bear Upshaw, Mark McLaughlin, Derico Symonds and Augy Jones for doing a great job coaching the teams.

Thanks to Darren Gerrior and Andrew Barnhill for driving in from Truro to run the skill development session on Thursday, and thanks to Shawn Mantley for running the skill development session on Friday.

Thanks to all of the mini and bantam coaches who put me in contact with their players.

Finally, I want to thank all of the campers and parents.
