Former Joe’s Camper (2000 & 2001) Chris Johnson, scored a team high 16 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in a loss to Navarro Junior College in their opening game of the 2009 Region 14 Men's Basketball Tournament in Texas, USA.

Former Joe’s Camper, Josh Beattie (2001), scored 22 points in the second half (27 in the game) of the AUS Championship Game to lead Dalhousie to their first conference championship since 1996.  Josh was selected Player of the Game.

Former Joe’s Campers Marquis Clayton, Riley Halpin, Level Carvery, DJ Smith and Chris Brown helped Citadel High capture the school’s first NSSAF boy’s basketball championship.  Citadel defeated Auburn 83-76 in the final game.  Marquis scored 16 points, Level netted 11, Riley had 19, and DJ added 5 in the win.  Former Joe’s Camper Jeremy McAvoy led Auburn with 22 points.

Former Joe’s Camper (2000, 2001 & 2002) Casey Fox scored 32 points for Acadia in a loss against Dalhousie in a AUS quarterfinal at the Metro Centre.

Former Joe’s Camper (2000, 2001 & 2002) Tremaine Fraser was selected to the AUS 2008-09 Second All-Star Team, and Casey Fox (2000, 2001, 2002) was named AUS 2008-09 Rookie of the Year.

Former Joe’s Camper (2005 & 2006),  Mandrez Downey, was selected to the Second All-Star team for the 2008 U15 National Championships in Kamloops, British Columbia.  Mandrez averaged 17.0 PPG and 3.8 RPG over 5 games at Nationals, which included an impressive 23 point outburst against the eventual gold medal winners, Ontario.    

 

Former Joe’s Camp (2005), Julian Smith, averaged 21.6 PPG and 5.2 RPG for the U17 Nova Scotia Provincial Team at the 2008 Nationals in Charlottetown, PEI.  In a heartbreaking triple overtime loss to Alberta, Julian scored 35 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and had 4 steals, in over 50 minutes of floor time.
